What is FRC001
FCR001 is a device, in a patent application, able to prevent fuel theft from tanks.
Its main feature, that makes it unique, is to be remotely controlled by a satellite device.
To our knowledge, in this moment it’s the only one device on the market that, in addition to the function of monitoring opens and closures of the tank cap, it’s able to prevent the access to the tank content to anyone not authorized to open it in a certain place and/or in a certain moment (consequently also the driver, even if he has keys for tank cap opening).
FCR0001 appears like a protective shield (in stainless steel) that prevents the direct access to tank cap and it can detect and provide, as information, its own safety state (protection present/absent, protection locked/unlocked).
The removal of the protective shield can happen only if there’s a permission from the remote control device.
Of particular interest for vehicles that travel on a fix route and that fill up on gas in a ownership square: the tank will be no longer accessible (opening) out of the headquarter. This item is applicable without the need of modifications and without drilling the tank.
FCR001 use expects the match with a satellite device, and for it this antitheft device is for all purpose a sensor and an actuator.
The connection with the satellite device is the wired type through a special cable connection classified anti-blowlamp, with single cables not marked and indistinguishable together , in the way that their not identifiable from possible vandals.
In the case that the satellite device do not authorize the release of the FCR0001, the shield that protects the tank cap should not be removed and so preventing the access to the tank.
Instead, if there’s an authorization, the manual lock can be opened and the shield removed.
Every release operation is reported to the satellite device that, according to specific policies, can, in certain circumstances, sand alarms or keep an historical archive of the opens.
The type and the complexity of functions that the device could implement depend solely on the satellite device’s management SW. Following some examples:
1) it’s able to keep track of openings/closures of the tank, without improving any authorization policy and so the preventive lock;
2) could be set an authorization policy in the way that the drive has full control about when and where open the tank, activating alarms in case of unauthorized opening;
3) could be provided a complex system of policies authorization where the fleet operator can prevent to anybody the opening of the tank in the case that the vehicle isn’t in a specific place (detectable with the GPS signal of satellite device) and eventually in a specific period. So, could be decide that the fill up will be done only in companies’ offices and/or in specific service stations, preventing the access to the tank when the vehicle is elsewhere.
Emergency fill up could be required by phone with a remote authorization.
FCR001, when the protection is active, is protected against attempts of sabotage from the personal and every attempt of removal.
It’s actually available in version applicable to metallic tanks having external diameter of the mouth of about 106 mm.
FCR001 mainly addresses to transport companies that integrate systems connected with satellite devices on trucks that carry goods or to companies that give this kind of service to fleets.
For a higher protection, FCR0001 could be combined with one of FCL Tecnoblock devices (FCL-U, FCL-U.V, FCL-U.V13) and/or with Tecnoblock PRT.SER01 device (protection for tank extracting).
